I received the first draft of the cover for Lila's Pony yesterday and I absolutely love it! I can't wait to share it!

The fun day was next Saturday – could she train Buttercup in time she wondered? Lila tried again, lowering the carrot slower. Buttercup’s nose twitched, and—snap!—she dipped her head a bit. “Yes!” Lila cheered, Sam smiling.

“Where are you from?” Lila asked.

Sam kicked a rock from the corral. “I’m from the farm over the hill.”

Lila cocked her head. “Well, welcome!” she smiled.

Sam smiled back. “You going to the fun day at Farmer John’s?”

Lila beamed, “Yes, I’m bringing Buttercup.”

“Cool!” Sam...

Lila yawned, craving sleep. Then it hit her – Saturday! Her eyes snapped open. Today, she’d ride her new pony! She leapt from bed, tugged on jeans, and slipped into new boots. Imagining Buttercup’s soft neigh, Lila grinned, her heart racing. She dashed downstairs and burst into the kitchen.

Her mother was buttering toast, eyes twinkling. “Breakfast?” she teased, knowing her daughter’s mind was elsewhere.

Lila kissed her cheek, grabbed an apple, and yelled, “Be right back!,” bolting outside....
